KELSEY HAYES ABS EBCM MODULE REPAIR FOR GM TRUCKS AND SUVs

PLACE AN ORDER

We can repair failed ABS modules (also known as EBCM electronic brake control modules) for GM Trucks and SUVs built after 1999 with Kelsey Hayes 325 control modules. The modules have an internal relay and/or transistor that fails causing the ABS pump to run continously. If your ABS pump is constantly running, you may wish to remove the ABS fuse (caution: this will disable the ABS) to prevent motor burnout until you can have us fix it. The dealer will not replace the relay for you because the ABS module is listed as a non-serviceable part. The relay is integral to the unit, and you need an experienced ABS electronic specialtist like us to remove and replace it given that it was never designed to be removed.

The ABS light will be lit and throw either a C0265, C0267, or C0268 diagnostic error code indicating either a shorted or open ABS pump motor circuit. If the relay fails one way, it will short the ABS circuit and the pump won't run at all. If the relay fails the other way, it will open the ABS pump circuit, and the pump will run continously! Replacing the relay will solve either problem. A C0265 code is corrected by replacing a power transistor known to fail. We replace the relay and transitor on ALL of our Kelsey Hayes rebuild whether they need it or not. Our replacement relays are the original Tyco/Siemens part, now no longer produced. We have a large supply of the remaining stock of these parts. We do not use cheap or generic replacement parts.

There is a lot of misinformation about Kelsey Hayes EBCM rebuilds online. Some users claim that the units can be repaired simply by sawing off the cover (please don't do this unless you want to saw through the circuit board!) and resoldering the power connectors and that the relay does not have to be replaced. It is true that this represents one of the failure modes, but it is one of many points of failure. More common is a failed relay or power transistor. The labor to replace these parts is extensive. The entire unit must be disassembled. We replace the relay, the transistor, and reflow all through-hole joints with premium solder in addition to removing and testing each solenoid individually. When you receive your rebuilt unit back from us, you will notice that each solenoid has been numbered. This is because we actually remove them completely and must mark them for proper orientation upon reinstallation. Others do not do this! So, how do you know if someone is fully repairing your ABS module addressing all common weak points or simply reflowing a few solder joints and hoping for the best? Simple: look at how much they are charging. Our fee of $139 covers the 2-3 hours of labor necessary to rebuild one of these modules fully. We feel this is a very competitive price given the work involved in rebuilding the unit. If another shop is charging half that or less, you can bet they aren't putting the same time in, and you can expect your module either not to work at all or not last as it should. Get it done right and let us back it up with our lifetime guarantee!
